It’s worrying that some people haven’t officially come here in the summer and can’t escape the sweltering heat.
The Dallas County Health Department says the number is higher than you might think, and they are trying to advertise a life-saving program.
Kamala Jesudas is approaching the hottest time of the year with a malfunctioning central air conditioner.
But despite the scorching sun scorching her home, the 77-year-old mesquite woman is still on cloud 9 today.
Dallas County delivered and installed a brand new central air conditioning unit costing approximately $10,000 free of charge.
“We’ve installed more than 70 air conditioning window units so far, which is great news, but we do have a substantial supply for the residents of Dallas County,” said Christian Grisa of the Dallas County Department of Health and Human Services. Rice (Christian Grisales) said.
Grisales said the Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program will prioritize seniors, people with disabilities and families with young children.
“Heatstroke, obviously if you go down this road the first time, you’re more susceptible to it the second time around, and when you get it, you can lose coherence and the ability to make good decisions,” Marksher said Dr. Wood, with the Institute for Functional Medicine.
The program is funded by government grants, which homeowners like Kamala Jesudas appreciate.
